Saturday June 27
Dawson Dan and Klondi spotted the GrizzMobile at a petrol stop in Smithers, and blew their horn in delight (right behind the unsuspecting GrizzLee). Yukon and GrizzLee climbed in the back of Dawson Van for a trip up Glacier Gulch and a view of Twin Falls (beneath the Hudson Glacier).
The Ksan Native Village in Henderson was worth a visit. Afterward, detours were made to view several collections of totem poles, still in their original locations, in Kitseguecla, Gitwangak and Gitanyow.
The native children were oblivious to the history that was (literally) beneath their feet.
The two traveling parties met up again along the Cassiar Highway.
Shortly after the junction to Stewart/Hyder, the weather became more "coastal", but the scenery was spectacular, nonetheless.
We made it to Hyder; typical border town.
Klondike Kate scouted out a church for Sunday.
Yukon and Grizzlee landed at "Camp Run-a-Muck" in Hyder; Dawson Dan and Klondi opted for the Ripley Creek Inn in Stewart.
