Yukon... We've Arrived!!

Before we left Dease lake we all piled into Dawson Dan's and Klondike Kate's mini-van to take a trip to Telegraph creek. The road was horrible from all the rain and calcium chloride. Dan took the dirt in stride.

The views were very nice and every bit as good as advertised.. maybe even better. Despite the rain.

We did a short side hike to a nice waterfall.

After lunch we headed back out and saw a mother bear with 3 cubs. We got some great shots of the straggler cub.
Afterwards we parted ways with Dawson Dan & Klondike Kate at they had to make their reservation in Whitehorse.

We arrived later in the evening to Jade City.. where surprisingly, Kendra, a college student from Prince George, immediately remembered Yukon Johann and GrizzLee from their journey 2 years ago. Absolutely amazing as she re-counted our evening reviewing pictures from our trip to Bowron Lakes.

As we bid goodbye to British Columbia, we got to meet one more bear. This critter was escorting us across the border.

Yukon Johann showing us that he is the "real deal"

Of course, GrizzLee had his own version of "Larger than Life" reaction to crossing into the Yukon once again.

We stopped in at Watson lake to hike the famed sign post Forrest and also have a couple of burgers for lunch.

Off towards Whitehorse on the ALCAN hwy. It is absolutely amazing.

El Capitan of the north? We think so.
Did we mention that once across the border to the Yukon, we were welcomed yet again by a neighborly bear?
It is midnight here in Whitehorse. Hard to sleep with all this daylight... oh well. Time for bed and more dreams of the Yukon.
